Meetings are held at 6:30 pm the first Thursday of each month
at the Portales Memorial Building at 200 E. 7th Street.

We also have an annual Memorial Day program at 10:30 am at
the Portales Cemetery and an annual Veterans' Day program at
10:30 am at the Portales Memorial Building at 200 E. 7th Street.

Annual membership dues are $45. If you are a New Mexico
veteran who would like to join us, you can mail a copy of your
DD 214 military discharge form with your name, address, and
phone number and a check for $45 to American Legion Post 31,
PO Box 275, Portales, NM 88130, and we will mail your
membership card to you. (You do not have to live in Portales to
be eligible, and you are not required to attend the meetings.)

Recent Post Activities:

We have been providing American flag foldings at the funerals
of Portales-area veterans.

We have been posting the colors at various local events for many
years.

We have been awarding $100 Americanism prizes to the top boy
and girl at the Portales Junior High for the past several years.

We have been cleaning, repairing, and resetting grave markers
of veterans at the Portales Cemetery with the help of several
volunteers.
